All the country stars were dressed to kill with hair that was even more impressive at the 2014 CMA. The trend seemed to be down, flowy, and relaxed hair that looks effortless yet chic and classy. Check out three of our favorite looks on three of country’s leading ladies!

Carrie Underwood’s Easy and Effortless Waves

Is there anything that isn’t completely stunning about this look!? Carrie’s beautiful, natural highlights are perfectly complemented by her over the shoulder waves.

Carrie Underwood - 2014 CMA Awards Hairstyles

How To Style:

  1. Begin with dry hair that’s parted to one side.

  2. Use a 1¼-inch curling iron to curl sections of your hair. Spray each section with a working spray before you curl.

  3. Once all sections are curled, gather your hair to one side and arrange it so it all rests over one shoulder. Tuck the hair on the other side behind your ear.

  4. Spray everything with a light hold finishing spray.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

This look is awesome if you have medium to long hair that’s any texture. A round or oval face shape will be complemented by this look.

Recommended Products:

A great working spray is key to a look like this. Try Does It All Spray by Bumble and Bumble. It will give each curl a bit more hold and it won’t get sticky or crunchy.

Brittany Kerr’s Heavenly Lose Curls

This look is totally dreamy. Her loosely curled, middle parted locks are perfectly complemented by a sweet headband.

How To Style:

  1. Begin with dry hair that’s parted down the middle.

  2. Use a 1¼-inch curling iron to curl sections of hair.

  3. When each section is curled, use your fingers to break up the curls and make them appear softer and more natural.

  4. Spray everything with a light hold finishing spray.

  5. If desired, use a headband to add a little extra pizazz to your look!

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

This look is awesome if you have short, medium or long hair! It will literally work for any hair type, length, and texture. A round face will be complemented by this look.

Recommended Products:

To get your curls even shinier and prettier, spray some Shimmer Shine by Kevin Murphy on the ends after you have finished curling. You may want to spray it in your hands before you add it to the ends of your hair, keeping it away from your roots. And remember, a little goes a long way!

Miranda Lambert’s Retro Glam Look

Miss Lambert was looking completely divine in her blingy gown and retro hair to match!

How To Style:

  1. Begin with dry hair that’s parted to one side.

  2. Curl each section of hair with a 1-inch curling iron. Make your sections fairly small.

  3. Once all sections have been curled, gather a section of hair that’s above your ear and twist it back so it reaches just behind your ear. Use a bobby pin to secure it back, and then be sure to hide the bobby pin by covering it with other hair.

  4. Use a brush to brush out the curls so they look softer and a bit fuller.

  5. Spray everything with a light hold finishing spray.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

This style is awesome if you have short hair that’s on the thicker, coarser side. If you have an oval or heart shaped face, this look will complement you well.

Recommended Products:

If you want to add a bit of extra texture and definition to your curled ‘do, use a texturizing cream on the ends of your hair. I love Sumo Wax by Bumble and Bumble. Put a tiny bit in between your fingers and apply it to the ends of your hair.
