  • #1 Tilted Bob

    Written by Sarah Nitz

A fun, slightly longer on one side, medium length bob is great for finer textures of hair. Add in a few little longer layers and you can create so many different styles.

    How To Style:

    1. After shampooing with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner, apply a volumizing mousse through your ends and work up into your scalp area.
    2. Blow dry turning ends under with a medium to large round brush. Hold top layers straight up when drying them, smoothing them over your round brush.  Roll the round brush down to your scalp and remove heat to let it cool for a few seconds before removing. This helps to set the curl and volume in.
    3. Finish with your favorite lightweight hairspray.

    Recommended Products:

Matrix has a great Rose volumizing regime of shampoo, conditioner and mousse.  It’s lightweight, gives great volume, and won’t build up on your fine hair.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

Square, round and heart shaped faces wear this style beautifully, while hair that is fine and can be a little longer is best for recreating this style.

  • #2 Asymmetrical Undercut

    Written by Sarah Nitz

Add sass and style to your hair with this fun asymmetrical cut paired with an undercut on one side.

    How To Style:

    1. Apply a light straightening cream to  damp hair.
    2. Blow dry using a flat brush.
    3. Once hair is 100% dry, use a flat iron at the lowest heat setting for your hair to finish the style.

    Recommended Products:

Try Pravana’s Model Behavior. It’s a light styling cream that won’t build up, gives a smooth soft hold, and smells amazing!

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

Heart, oval and diamond shaped faces wear this style wonderfully. Hair that is naturally straight makes this easier to recreate, although hair that has a slight wave will also work.

  • #3 Waves for Days

    Written by Sarah Nitz

This wavy A-line bob is a breeze to style and looks amazing in any setting. It is a great style for naturally wavy hair or easy to recreate with a curling iron or wand.

    How To Style:

    1. Apply a medium hold gel or mousse to wet hair (this is important for naturally curly or wavy hair). Scrunch a leave-in conditioner over your hair, and use a towel or old t-shirt to get excess water out.
    2. Using your blow dryer and diffuser, dry hair. Set your dryer on the lowest force, but highest heat setting. You can clip the top section up while drying underneath, then drop it down.
    3. Once hair is dry, if your hair is naturally curly, arrange any curls out of place then mist with hairspray.
    4. If you want more curl or wave, grab your curling wand or iron. Wrap hair around the iron or wand, letting each curl cool before touching.

    Recommended Products:

One of my favorite curly or wavy hair products is Kevin Murphy Motion Lotion.  My favorite leave-in conditioner is Pravana’s Intensive Therapy.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

Any face shape can wear this look. Hair that is naturally curly or wavy makes it easier to recreate, but straight hair can get there with a little curling iron work!
