All of our fave celeb gals brought their A-game to the 2014 Grammy Awards. From the couture outfits, to the dreamy hair and makeup, no one left us disappointed! Check out three of our favorite looks and the simple steps to recreate them!
Kacey Musgraves Wows With an Understated Look
This beauty looked absolutely stunning with a low, messy chignon placed perfectly to the side with a sexy, swoopy side bang.
Get The Look:
- Smooth your hair using a blow dryer and boar bristle round brush or a flat paddle brush. Part to the desired side and style bangs.
- Spray dry shampoo at your roots and use a back combing brush to create volume. Then, smooth your hair gently using the same back combing brush.
- Secure your hair in a low ponytail.
- Use a curling iron and curl the hair in the ponytail. This doesn’t have to be perfect! The goal here is just to give the ponytail some body and texture.
- Take sections of the ponytail and secure them to your head using bobby pins. Be sure to use some of those pieces to cover up the ponytail holder!
- Spray everything with a light hold hairspray.
Recommended Products:
When you are back combing your roots to get volume, try spraying Fresh Hair by Kevin Murphy at your roots. It creates a brilliant base for your back combing and the volume you can achieve is out of this world!
Rita Ora’s Retro Waves = Nothing Short of Absolutely Devine
Ms. Ora’s deep side part and soft, sleek waves were certainly a total crowd pleaser!
Get The Look:
- When hair is dry, wrap sections around a 1¼-inch curling iron. Hold the curling iron horizontally and wrap the hair so it’s going toward your face. Continue this until all hair is curled. Each curl should be going the same way. The idea here is to have every curl have the exact same curl pattern right next to each other.
- When all hair is curled, use a flat paddle brush and brush through the curls.
- Finish by applying some shine spray or serum to the midlengths through the ends.
Recommended Products:
Try spraying a little Bumble and Bumble Shine Spray in your hands and then apply it to the curls. Keep it off of your roots to avoid it looking greasy!
Taylor Swift Looks Flawless With a Fancy Pony
Taylor never lets us down with her dreamy locks. This year she brought the glam with a ponytail and then some. The side bang and a wrap in the back had us totally swooning!
Get The Look:
- Part hair to the side and leave out bangs. Gather hair into a ponytail in the back middle of your head.
- Curl sections of your ponytail using a 1¼-inch curling iron.
- Use a small section of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the ponytail holder to hide it. Secure the end with a bobby pin.
- Spray everything with a light hold hairspray.
Recommended Products:
Moroccan Oil makes an excellent finishing hairspray. It’s light enough that it won’t leave you feeling sticky or crunchy, but it will be plenty to keep your hair in place all night long.
Although these stunning celebs typically have a little help in the hair department, there’s no reason why you can’t follow these simple steps and recreate these looks for your own special night out!
