I teamed up with Sephora to show you how to use these three products for a flawless, dewy finish:
BECCAFirst Light Filter Face Primer
SephoraMake No Mistake Foundation + Concealer (I’m wearing #2 “Birch”)
Urban DecayAll Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
Watch the video to see how I work them into my everyday routine. See the difference for yourself!
I’m not a huge fan of full coverage foundations (for myself); I find them to look and feel a little too cake-y. Though this Sephora Collection Make No Mistake Foundation + Concealer stick is described as medium coverage, I was nervous it would be too heavy. WRONG. It was creamy and truly a medium (but buildable) coverage, just enough to even out my complexion and cover any dark circles, redness, and blemishes without feeling like a mask. But the magic depends on its two counterparts: BECCAFirst Light Filter Face Primer and Urban DecayAll Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. Forget a caked on mask. Forget dry, powdery coverage that settles into every line and pore. This is all about glowing, dewy skin — no highlighter required.
I’m a huge fan of BECCA products, and if I had one word to describe them it would be “glow.” Their focus is heavily on skin that looks lit from within, and this brightening primer will help you achieve that. For as long as I can remember, I’ve harped on the importance of a primer. Want to diminish the appearance of pores? Primer. Even out your skin tone a bit? Primer. Keep makeup from settling into creases? Primer! Want staying power? Use a primer before your product and a setting powder or spray after. For this look, I skipped the powder and went for a setting spray, because I wanted a dewy look. But first, primer. This particular primer is silky smooth and hydrating, and the sheer violet tint acts as a brightener. Your foundation will go on effortlessly after applying this primer — just do a side by side with and without to see and feel the difference.
As you can see from the video, I applied the Sephora Collection Make No Mistake Foundation + Concealer straight from the tube and used a damp beautyBlender to dab and blend all over, sheering it out just a tad to keep it fresh and light. If you want more coverage, use a foundation brush instead of a damp sponge, or go back in with a second layer to build it up. Or you can spot conceal with the foundation stick, where needed. I skipped highlighter in favor of a natural glow, dabbed some blush on my cheeks to bring back some color, and set it all with that magic Urban DecayAll Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. They have setting sprays that target different concerns, but the original is my go-t0 for long lasting results. Between a primer and a setting spray, your makeup will last all day! The proof is in the pudding: The final photos (white backdrop, not flowers) were taken hours after the video was filmed. I just freshened up my lipstick:)
