Brilliant Brown Bob

How would you describe this look?

This cut and color brings a youthful, refreshed feel to anyone who wants to change the way they feel with a new hairstyle. A lightly textured bob like this one is great for fine hair giving a fuller look that has movement.

This cut is easy to style with loose, tousled curls and a texture spray. I used a 1.25″ Usmooth curling iron and Davines dry texture spray. The color is a hand painted balayage and a color glaze for the dimensional color that will give an easy grow-out and add to that lived-in feel.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Blunt bobs with the lived-in look are on trend and easy to care for. This look will give anyone with fine hair the appearance of having more hair.

For thicker hair, I’d recommend lots of razored texture and a slightly longer length and for thinner hair, less texture to the hair and a shorter length. It’s a great look for most face shapes with the slightest adjustment of length.

Smashing Short Bob

How would you describe this look?

This haircut is a timeless style that can be worn at any age. The bluntness of this bob gives it a modern edge and makes it relevant to our time. We also took Sawyer from a warm blonde balayage to more of an all over sandy blonde with roots to give it a lived-in look.

A simple color complements this bob! I love the versatility of a short haircut like this. Even though it’s above the shoulder you can still wear it in many different ways – pin straight, straight with textured ends, beach waves, or even half up.

Any advice for someone considering it?

If you want something that will never go out of style and that literally can flatter anyone, a bob is for you. Don’t be afraid to go above the shoulder. Like I said, it can be worn so many different ways. Expect to get more frequent haircuts if you are going from long hair to a bob cut. Visits to your hairdresser every 6ish weeks to keep the length just right is what I recommend!

Some people find it challenging to work out with shorter hair but coming from a girl that 1.) goes to the gym often and 2.) has a bob, I can say that you can still put all your hair up successfully with a little help from a headband and Bobby pins! Just remember, have fun with your hair!

Trendy Middle Part

How would you describe this look?

This look was a lot of fun to create. I had a lot of free range with it and definitely got to be creative with the cut and color.

With this look, she had a natural level 7/8 red toned hair, so there was no need to pre-lighten. We started with a good 5-inch cut, making sure not to waste color. Then painted the desired amount of the green she wanted. I took the cut and her face shape into consideration as well. Not to go too high. The green was a mixture of blues, teals from Joico, which was also fun.

I love making custom colors for clients. For the cut, I knew I wanted to do a blunt textured bob, as those are my favorites. Something about a clean perimeter on a cut makes me very happy, but knowing she wasn’t always going to style her hair made me also not keep it too blunt. There’s where the textured layers come in – just enough to give you some bounce when you style but perfect enough to wear it natural as well.

Any advice for someone considering it?

I would absolutely take a look at your face shape. Play with your hair’s length in the mirror to get a good idea if this length would suit you. Your stylist will know best so trust their judgment. I also believe everyone can have fun color, whether it’s just the ends, like this style, or something less extreme to more drastic! It’s just hair, so why not play around with it!

This is a fun cut for any age. You can style it very straight and bold, to something a little more playful with some textured waves like how I did with her. Like I said earlier, this cut is a very easy wear. If you are a person who never styles your hair this is also great for you, just remember those textured layers.

Ideal for Thick Hair

How would you describe this look?

This look is a medium sleek bob. A blunt haircut is always on trend since the blunt bob was first done by the iconic Vidal Sassoon.

As a Sassoon trained hairstylist, I love geometric shapes and sharp strong shapes. This is one of my favorite haircuts to do because cutting it in one length keeps its maximum density.

Any advice for someone considering it?

While blunt styles are often worn with straight hair, as it’s the best way to show the precision of the cut, they can work just as well with waves or textured hair. See? So many things to love about it already! So, if you’re thinking of updating your look with a blunt haircut this year, here is are my top tips for pulling it off like a pro.

If you want the sleek look I would personally recommend you to use products before and after blow-drying it. As a before product, I would use love hair smoother of Davines which gives you a really shine and smooth effect, and as a finishing product, a nice light hairspray (perfection hairspray of Davines) will do. And then your nice sleek bob is ready to rock.

Beautiful Bob With Bangs

How would you describe this look?

This is an edgy bob – nice and blunt, featuring a textured fringe which would have to be my favorite element of the cut. It’s accompanied by a rose gold, a copper color which is different yet still mellow. I love it!

Any advice for someone considering it?

This complete hairstyle would be ideal for someone who has a few minutes in the morning to put some effort into their hair. It is easily styled with dry powder/dry powder spray (depending on the density of the hair) to create that extra texture. This cut would complement someone with fine hair, to give them that “full bob” feel they are always after.

Dashing Deep Side Part

How would you describe this look?

The blunt bob cut brings a modern and classic look at the same time. One thing that I like so much in this type of cut is that it combines both with flat and with modeling. About the color, it comes to intensify the movement of the wicks creating channels of luminosity.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This type of cut is ideal for women that don’t have the courage to make a radical change, like a channel for example. It combines with many kinds of style but is very important that the hair is well treated because being a cut off defined lines can end up highlighting some negative characteristics of the wires as dry tips and porosity. The style that I like more in this cut is messy hair, which makes a sexy hair.
