White Blonde Hair: 17 Examples That Prove This Color Is Hot!

White blonde hair is a rising hair color trend as fashioned by celebrities Taylor Swift, Elle Fanning, and of course, the Kardashians. It’s a lightweight color, borderline rebellious, but very sophisticated!

If you’re a brunette considering to get this delicate hue, be aware of the meticulous process that involves bleaching, strengthening, and moisturizing needed to reach your blonde goals. Obviously, it takes a lot of time and patience to achieve this color, and taking care of it is also a big commitment. However, the captivating result that you would get upon donning snow blonde locks are certainly worth the try!

How would you describe this look?

It’s the icy blonde platinum hair that every blonde dream of!

Any advice for someone considering it?

This look is super trendy and fun for 2018, but I wouldn’t recommend it for every client. Maintaining this icy look requires regular visits to the salon about every 2-4 weeks for a root touch up and a toner. So if you’re constantly on the go and have a very busy lifestyle, this may not be realistically the best look for you. Also keep in mind that depending on your natural hair color this may not happen in one visit, and that’s okay.

To all good stylist, keeping the integrity of your hair is most important. When first starting to achieve this look, it may take a couple of sessions. Like the saying goes, “the best things come to those who wait.” As far as at-home maintenance, purple/blue shampoo is your best friend! You also want to make sure to regularly do a conditioning mask to keep that blonde shiny and healthy. Blonde is beautiful but it does take maintenance. But I mean look at her hair, it’s worth it!

Streaked White Blonde on Brown Hair

How would you describe this look?

This look is a very dimensional highlight/lowlight. I used neutral chocolate tones and more icy blonde tones in very fine sections to create a strong contrast, while also blending nicely and not looking “stripey.” This color looks great straight, wavy or curly, but these curls that were made by a 1-inch curling iron really show off all the ribbons of color.

Any advice for someone considering it?

I think this look is perfect for someone who is feeling that their solid color just needs something more. Highlights or lowlights or even both will add the dimension that solid colors lack. Also by adding light and dark tones, the outgrowth is less harsh which is a win for someone who goes a while in between appointments!

Natural Looking White

How would you describe this look?

This was done for a soon-to-be bride who wanted natural white blonde hair. What I love so much about this hair is that it is a wearable lived-in look. We went with a rooty dimensional white blonde that complemented her skin tone and haircut. I styled her to give the effect of “woke up like this” which I personally love.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Getting to this level of blonde isn’t always achievable in one session, and upkeep at-home styling products such as an oil, heat protectant, and purple shampoo are crucial.

White blonde hair is a stunning look but it isn’t for everyone. Consider how much you’re wanting to spend and the time you put in at home to make sure your hair is as good at home even after leaving the salon. Having a good consultation with your stylist is key when trying to achieve this look.

Trendy Short Hair

How would you describe this look?

This look is a very cool girl blonde. It’s super low maintenance, as it already has a root shadow which means as it grows out you will not see the regrowth and will look just as good in 6 weeks as it does now!

The color is best worn with a very loose wave. The color does the speaking, so super relaxed styling is essential for this.

The coolest thing about this look is how fresh, clean, and youthful it looks, making almost every skin color glow!

Any advice for someone considering it?

Shampoo your hair with a clarifying shampoo to keep clean from air pollution, which can build on hair and is visible on blondes, which gives the brassy yellow tones!

Follow that with a toning treatment, which will nourish your hair with hydration but also has the violet tones to give it that extra clean blonde feel. I would recommend Christophe Robin “baby blonde.”

I feel this style can be worn on almost anybody, just slightly tweak the root shadow depending on your natural color. If you’re not feeling so brave to go for the chop a slightly longer style, collarbone length would look great!

It’s aimed towards the young hearted, fun “cool girl.” The ideal client for this would have to be a girl with a natural base of a dark ash blonde. As the lightening process would be a lot gentle of the hair, however, I would always suggest a Plex product in with the color.

White as Snow on Shoulder Length Hair

Stylist / Salon Owner @ House Of Aitous in Toronto, ON / Los Angeles, CA

How would you describe this look?

This color is the Lamborghini of blondes. It’s the most sought-after blonde of all time. I call it “Mother of Pearl,” because of its luxurious tone. I love this color/tone so much because it’s not too warm and not too cool and is perfect for anyone’s skin tone.

I definitely think it’s a one-size-fits-all kind of color, as we can see with this one. A younger lady and an older woman can both rock it and look like a super-star! I keep the cut short for more edge and elegance. However, this look is a statement on its own and says I’m a strong woman who can handle anything that you put in my way. Get it girl!

Any advice for someone considering it?

This color is not cheap! If you think you’re going to go this light and use cheap aftercare products or go to a non-professional colorist who is not experienced in blondes, be ready to shave your hair off and/or spend hundreds of dollars on products trying to fix it.

Do your research beforehand and don’t be afraid to interview your colorist about their past experience and about your hair 1- type, 2- texture 3- pigment and if it is even possible to achieve this color. This color is so sexy and brings out the fun in every girl and makes you feel so hot. It is great for ladies who want to turn on their men and for girls who want to get a hot guy.

Dark Roots with White Blonde

Q&A with style creator, Jazzmine Brannick

How would you describe this look?

It’s a low maintenance approach to platinum hair. By having a shadow at the root your able to effortlessly grow out your hair without any harsh lines. Platinum is my favorite color to do, as it’s challenging yet so rewarding when you nail it. The greatest part of this look is how seamlessly it all fits together, color, cut, and waves to create a show-stopping style that accents my client’s beauty.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Go through a lengthy consultation to determine what style would be best for you. If you can make it into the salon every 6-8 weeks and want to be super blonde, you can go for highlights or on scalp bleach. If you can only come in every 3-6 months I recommend doing a shadow root or even a foilayage method, something with a more blended root area. As for products I always recommend my clients take home Olaplex #3, my favorite purple shampoo Milkshake Silvershine shampoo, a moisturizing conditioner, and a deep conditioning mask, as blonde hair tends to be on the drier side.
