How would you describe this look?
This look is delicate and sweet. The color gives a summer vibe, which also is perfect because this color is one of the upcoming trends for this summer. My favorite thing about this is definitely the pale pink color.
Any advice for someone considering it?
Think about the big change. The hair needs bleaching to a white-ish color, which could damage the quality of the hair.
This kind of pastel pink hair color will not be sustainable in the hair for a long period of time. The client needs a color shampoo/conditioner to use at home, so they also need to consider their budget.
When it comes to the skin tone the light pink will suit most of us. This because it contains both warm and cold pigments. And as long as the roots are a little bit darker, it will not give a flat impression.

How would you describe this look?
This client doesn’t want to have a color that needs to be maintained very often. She comes only once a year so we do balayage highlights for her hair. The best thing about this color is that when the rosegold hues fade (and the client doesn’t want to maintain it anymore) from the hair she can have it blonde for the rest of the time and does not have to worry about growing roots.
This time I did both balayage highlights with backcombing technique and classic highlights to frame the face. She had very thick hair so I did a bit of layering in the back, but mainly focused layering the hair around the face so it gives her very soft and light feel.
Any advice for someone considering it?
This color needs to be maintained frequently, these pastel tones fade very easily. So this color isn’t the best if you don’t want to waste your time in shower maintaining the color or the money that you can easily spend for the hair products.
Due to its short lasting, this is good for those who want to try something new but wants to go back for the more settle look!

This look is bold while still being very feminine and flirty. The best part about it is how it shines in the light and as she moved it gave off an iridescent effect.
Any advice for someone considering it?
Pastel vivids are becoming more popular and it’s common for people to assume that they are easy to achieve and maintain but in reality, it’s more difficult than it appears. My best advice is to prepare for multiple sessions and to find a stylist that can get you to a healthy platinum blonde before trying out pastels. Also, color depositing treatments such as overtone and Joico color butter will become your best friend to help refresh the color in between appointments.

How would you describe this look?
What I love about this light-hearted pinky pastel is it was a happy redo! I had done her hair the week before with a beautiful color correction fixing green banding with strong roots and funky ends and I transformed it into a perfectly bright blush (you can see that a few posts before on my Instagram)! But she came back a week later to soften the roots and wanted more of a lilac tone. So I Malibu-ed her pretty bright pulp riot blush and gave her an exaggerated shadow root using my lovely Keune semi 5.11+6.1 (dark ashy) then reglossed her ends with pulp riot clear + powder + blush to make more of a light lilac tone!
I also sealed it in with a soft pink gloss from Keune to shine it up. This is a fantastic spring color on blondes that want a little fun change but I also love that it’s a friendly fade out and will look pretty until it’s gone. Adding the loose curls with a 1″ curling iron adds to the softness and really just makes her look pretty and polished!
Any advice for someone considering it?
When considering this look I would want my client to know fashion pastel colors fade within 25 washes so tread lightly and gently. Cool water, put money into your color safe/sulfate free shampoo, don’t shampoo daily. Make dry shampoo your friend!
As far as the tone, it’s beautiful on most already light blondes! It’s just has a kick of fun to it without being too out there and fades really soft & pretty. The shadow root makes the outgrowth easier to manage too. It’s a perfect pastel tone for springtime.

How would you describe this look?
This look is the best of both worlds for desired pastel pinks if you can’t decide on which tones would looks better you can have the best of both! It has the blend of the cool tones, which gives it the smokiness, and the warmth to bring in and catch the light. Similar to makeup in the highlight and contouring aspect but for hair!
The loveliest thing about this look is the versatility of the color combos. By incorporating the client’s natural hair color, it makes the client look enhanced but not still herself so it doesn’t overpower her skin tone and it also keeps it low maintenance for when it grows out. Also with the balance of warm and cool, it makes it work with every skin tones no matter the undertones. Also when it fades, it doesn’t fade to a flat blonde, it would fade to a blonde with dimensions.
Any advice for someone considering it?
Do lots and lots of research. Save all the pink hair color photos that catch your eyes and show it to your hairstylist. They should notice a pattern and see the tones you like. Don’t wash your hair, do use dry shampoo or go as long as you can, and wash in cool water.
When heat styling, keep it low! I always tell my clients the temperature when I’m curling their hair and say “this is the temperature, if you cant curl faster than me, then don’t go higher than me.” High heat can burn the color off or even your hair.
I would have you ask yourself a number of questions: What lengths are you willing to go for this hair? This look requires lighting, no matter where your natural level starts at. You would need up to 3 sessions. This is based on natural, virgin hair.
After knowing that, it now leads to these questions: Is healthy hair a big thing for you? Not saying that your hair would be damaged/dry after this, but are you open to the possibility? This is before you even reach the pastel pink. Note that anything iridescent or pastel do not last. It is unfortunate that something so pretty will only last up to 5-7 washes. This is based on hair conditions and you washing it in cooler water. Heat, hot water, salt water, sun, free radicals can cause hair color to fade.
Alright, so now, you are fine with everything above, the big question: Are you willing to invest? Invest what? Time and money. Each session of lighting could lead up to 5.5-6 hours. The client in the photo took a total of 18 hours, 3 sessions of 6 hours each. She did it over time. With 3-4 months in between each session, so her hair and wallet could rest.
Cutting, lighting, toning, styling, up to 6 hours at approx $500 per session before gratuity. Toners – this is for in between sessions if you need them. Everyone’s hair quality is different – some retain color better and some doesn’t. Not everybody is the same.
I recommend Color Enhancing Shampoo Purple, Blue, Pink, Etc. (Once a week, $50+). Why once a week? Because it’s meant to neutralize/enhance tones. When you overuse, it would over the deposit and affect the color. Less is more. Now you need a regular shampoo. To keep the hair healthy, I suggest something that has the perfect balance of moisture and protein – over protein (dry brittle), over moisture (elastic-ky, noodly).
At this point, your hair needs the big guns. You wash about 1-3 times a week. If your hair is weak or thirsty, deep conditioner/masks will bring it back to life. What’s the point of getting the color you want but in a bad state. Use it Minimum once a week for 5-10 min.
Products: Oils/Serums $30, Heat Protector $25+, Leave-in Conditioner $25+. Tips: if you’re lazy or have limited counter space, buy a 10 in 1 because oil is always a must. Things you must remember when purchasing oil for your hair, especially for my blonde ladies: It’s more than just nourishing! Think of it like a sponge/white piece of paper, the color of the oil matters – orange/yellow oil. Your hair will drink it, and always put oil in hair before blow-drying or air dry. Your hair needs something to drink as it starts to dry.
